Meet Vi Hughes, our writing for children and young adults judge!

Vi is a writer, retired school principal, former sessional instructor in reading at UBC, and early literacy advocate. Her work is published in books, a poetry anthology, educational anthologies for children, journals, and magazines. Her primary interest is writing for children. She’s worked to encourage communities to make reading opportunities available to children in their public spaces. She has judged books for BC and Yukon Book Prizes and the Sheila Barry Picture book of the year.
