Join us March 16 for an insightful and relevant conversation with one of Canada’s leading literary publicists Margaret MacKinnon-Cash. Margaret will discuss strategic, creative campaigns she developed for world-renowned authors designed to build awareness, drive sales, and engage audiences. She’ll share how, through her connections with media, influencers, publishers, bookstores, and event organizers, she can customize effective, results-driven campaigns. She’ll also share ideas for how to promote your book, no matter what stage it is at, establish your brand, and get your story out there even before you hire a publicist.
Since creating MMC PR over 20 years ago, Margaret MacKinnon-Cash has calmly and meticulously managed hundreds of publicity tours for some of the world’s foremost thinkers, novelists, business and government leaders, media personalities, entertainers and celebrity chefs. She’s the ‘go-to’ publicist on the West Coast for publishing houses such as Penguin Random House Canada, HarperCollins Canada, Simon & Schuster and Robert Rose.
Along with her love of books, Margaret thrives on helping non-profit and creative enterprises with their communications needs and has worked with Vancouver Hospital, The Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver, and Providence Health Care. Her fondness for the written word and current affairs took her to Carleton University’s School of Journalism before earning a Bachelor of Public Relations degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax. She is a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society and a former board member of the Canadian Women in Communications.
The NSWA monthly members’ meeting will be at the North Vancouver City Library, 6:30-8:30 pm.
