Deadly Assumption
When a young man witnesses the rescue of a woman’s body from the ocean off Vancouver, on Canada’s west coast, he assumes it is his prospective fiancé. Traumatized, he flees the scene without waiting for an investigation or its findings, and commits to work as an international art dealer without his soulmate. Several years pass when, by chance, he learns the truth and of the twist of fate that changes his life forever.
With the plot set in Vancouver, B.C., this international novel offers romance, mystery, history and even a suspected homicide. Encompassing England, Canada, Germany and France, this generational saga, set in the 1980s reaches back to the WW2 years.
The characters are tightly intertwined and as the story unfolds, it reveals the dramatic impact the dead woman had on those whose lives she had touched either directly or indirectly.
This novel was born from an idea, after witnessing the retrieval of a woman’s body from the ocean, at the lower end of Granville Street in Vancouver.
